Jimboxy
I was expecting uke I thought about Uke-ing it but fancied playing a full sized instrument for a change. I'm tying to improve my guitar playing to be honest.
Sly Reflex
I didn't really know where to put this, but it seems this is the closest thread without kicking off a new one needlessly. I've had my eye on Music Creator 6 for a while now, I nearly bought it a few days ago when I was talking to H, but backed out. I'm glad I did as steam threw it up for sale. It's impressed me how you can chuck the loops about and it make something that resembles music pretty well. It's a steal for what you're getting at the moment if you're into making or mixing music. I've spent the night getting my head around the MIDI stuff. I sort of wish I could read keys a bit easier, having to count out which key is what note is a bit of a bummer. It's looking like a versatile bit of kit though, the synth stuff is really impressive, I just wish I could figure out how to do sustained notes in the sequencer without having to go into another overlay. I'm certain you can do it, I'm just not sure how.

Sly Reflex
I tried that. I think that works on other parts of the layout, but not in the sequencer.
Hendo
Can you do a screen grab of the note editing section? In Ableton, you hover your mouse over the end of the note and the icon changes and then you just grab the note and move it along to the right to sustain it. Sly Reflex
There's a smart tool in this that allows you to change the velocity, duration, note bends, pan, volume, portamento, filter, delay and a bunch of other unimportant crap in most of the tools that allow you to put notes down. Piano roll doesn't seem as accurate as the sequencer. I'm almost certain you can alter the duration of the notes as I've seen notes continue in tutorials, it's just that they never explain how to do it. Hendo
That looks similar to Ableton, notes go across, velocity goes up below the notes. Have you got it sorted now then?
Sly Reflex
Nope, unless I want to do everything in piano roll. I'm sure it'd be fine to do it that way, but you know, knowledge is power with these things. It's worth noting that once you've done something in piano roll you cannot transfer back to the sequencer. You can go into other parts of the editor though.
Sly Reflex
A very basic song I knocked together in about an hour. It took me almost as long to figure out how to bloody export it, it's sort of weird in that you have to do a bit of pissing about to upload straight from the program. <iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F112804003"></iframe>

Sly Reflex
I cannot say I'm perfectly happy with it, there's loads of stuff I've still to learn to get my head around like punctuating using velocity. I understand in concept how it works, but getting it to sound as it does when you actually play an instrument with your own hands is a lot fucking harder than I was expecting it to be. Also, I'm amazed that there's no SFX boards in the program at all, I spent ages looking for a gunshot. I ended up using a drum that sort of sounded like one in the end. <iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F114644026"></iframe>
