HDMI Cables

Just wondered as my PS3 cable has gone, i don't mean its not there and the dog has pinched it, but the PS3 just doesn't work with it anymore had to dig out the non-hd cables to watch a blue-ray film tonight.

I just wondered do they burnout or knacker over time? my last PS3 killed 2 cables and my new slim PS3 has killed its first in 18 months. Off to argos tomorrow to get a new cable.

I think they do, i had a microsoft HDMI cable and then one day it randomly stopped working.

I'm never gonna pay much for a HDMI now!

Just find it odd, as i have a scart lead which has to be about 10 years old still working, ah well at least i have my xbox with components.

The one my housemate was using for his ps3 gave up a few months back. He thought it was his ps3 until I insisted we try different cables in it, then he moaned about the cost of a new hdmi cable after being apparently fine with replacing his ps3

Brought a new cable just a cheap argos value one, and nothing, tv still dead no picture from the ps3. So quick trip to my girlfriends ps3 under arm, fitted up to her tele, no problems so it looks like my HDMI socket is broke on the tele, was hoping for some good news but its not! damn no HD for a bit then.

I get all my AV cables from thatcable.com and all have been awesome so far, cheap too!

I've hardbooted my TV as stated in the Samsung menu and still nothing so i've ordered some PS3 Components, one thing which surprised me is how hard it is to find these! Game, Argos, Comet, Pcw, Dixons and Curry's none of them do them, i've got a set from play.com but not an official set.
