Any impressions so far?

Ive been enjoying what ive played. It feels more like a new one than any of the previous versions have, although to date nothing has made me go wowsa!

The narrative makes it feel more like the anime show, which is a good thing, I've felt nicely involved all the way so far, I'm two badges in and I still feel like I'm part of the intro.

So far, so good.

I've been playing it a bit, I have six gym badges so far. There is nothing really to say about it tho as there is nothing really new in it apart from the Pokemon and most of them are shit.

A bin liner with eyes? That'll be Trubbish. A bat type Pokemon? No not Zubat - Woobat.

You should know by now if you like Pokemon or not.

I know what Stoobie is saying, it's a sequel so if you hated the last one this won't win you over, but it's better than the previous ones. It's what the last two should have been really. Don't listen to Stoobie he is grumpy since he hasn't been allowed out of the house for a few months.

Stoobie is grumpy

I still like the game it just feels like they had a look in the bin at Pokemon HQ and used all the discarded design ideas from the previous game to make the new Pokemon.

sam you lying fuck where's your friend code?

Mine: 3052 8834 6964 I've got Black if anyone wants to trade between the games

the friend code stuff is a bit hidden away. I even read the instructions and still struggled to find it

As for the game itself, it could do with a couple more pokemon early on, and maybe not having another stupid rodent thing as the most overused pokemon again. Also I've got a green plant thing, and fought a pokemon that's exactly the same except blue (so water), that's a bit of a cheap way to make more pokemon, it's like Mortal Kombat or something

Aside from that the game looks better, and I liked that the first gym leader is a pick of 3 depending on who you're weakest against, it's also a nice way to teach new people the mechanics

Id play it but the Pokemon look terrible and not even Soul Silver managed to keep my attention for long, and Gold and Silver are my favourite generation. If that isnt keeping my interest I dont think a new one will do much better.

http://spong.com/article/26047/Japanese-Magazine-Drops-Hints-of-Pokemon-Grey

It's official. The Pokémon Company is starting to run out of colours. Hints at a new entry in the series has surfaced in the pages of Japanese comic-magazine CoroCoro, with constant references to the colour grey.

The two-page spread, via GoNintendo, advertises the upcoming Pokémon movie (yep, Japan is still making them - this is the fifteenth) while dropping massive teases about a new form of Pocket Monster.

Captions included on the page read, "What mystery is hidden in Kyurem?" and "Kyurem's unseen power will be revealed" - which according to various fansites, is a reference to the third legendary Pokémon that can be found in the DS sort-of-reboot, Black and White.

With a recent statement from the Pokémon Company revealing that it will be releasing more games this year than they did in 2011, and the fact that the Pokémon movies are pretty much a vehicle to peddle a brand new creature in an upcoming game, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine that a Pokémon Grey could well be on the cards this year.

It's that time of year where news is thin so rumour mills go balmy. I can't say I'm that bothered about this. Give me a 3D 3DS version you shits.

You want ANOTHER, JAPANESE Pokemon game?! Variety in games is dead. The fact that you want it to be in three dimensions as well.....you are the problem with gaming

I was just flicking through the Pokedex on White 2 and I've just seen my Solrock is actually a shiny! I've never had a shiny!

I thought at the time the colouring was a bit off but I think I just put it down to it being a revamped sprite. I'm gonna have to start raising it now; my shiny, my shiny Solrock.

This game is amazing. Everyone go buy it, now.

I'm loving that this one just doesn't stop, there is so much to do. I've been traipsing around getting looaads of rare, one-time Pokemons and I've also been getting all coo-y when I come across oldies. The noise I made when I stumbled across a Dratini was something I never thought I could do.

I also decided to get all the Eevee evolutions (I did check the internet for the grass one but that is a weird one so fuck anyone who complains). I'd say that catching 7 Eevees was probably the hardest part.

I'm currently making my way down this giant tree that has randomised dungeons in it and it's hard as Hell, I'm lovin' it. Can't stop playing it.

Dear 2011,

Hi.

Your pal, illdog.

Bought this in that there Argos sale Ed posted up, fired it up last night. I was a little worried that it would feel too aged after the awesomeness that was X/Y but this has been great so far. Admittedly i'm only 2 hours in and 1 gym leader down and it does absolutely nothing new but it manages to do nothing new really well. It's a fresh tackle on the same old shit if you know what I mean.

Also, worst impressions thread evar. 7 billion posts and about 3 actual impressions of the game.

This game has held my attention, it's just different enough from the old formula to do so. Ive got two gym badges and have just crossed Skyarrow Bridge. I loved that! The scaling sprites and journey across was a nice little touch, then I entered Castelia City which is blatanly the inspiration for Lumiose City.

Ive been enjoying Team Plasma's constant interuptions too, the battle music against them is awesome.

All my team are around level 20 but I only have 5, i'm waiting for a decent fire Pokemon to come along and join my Snivy (now a Snervine), Panpour, Throh, Munna and Roggenrola.
