Manicm
Any thoughts, tbh i think i already know. Got back from my holiday yesterday booted up the pc, nothing just a blank screen and the caps lock and scroll lock lights flash twice then a pause then flash again insequence. A bit of internet searching and it turns out the BIOS is corrupt. Snag is that i can't get to the BIOS settings, and the computer refuses to get past the first 2 seconds of the boot. Im guessing its fooked, been advised its fooked, but really hoping someone knows some trick i could use, ive tried a usb boot but as the bios won't kick in it fails to recognise the dvd drive or the usb ports. spatular
i'm not sure but think you can sometimes reset the bios by taking the battery out for a bit? edit- and/or use a jumper to reset it, what make/model is it, try and find a user guide online? Manicm
LOL, after some tinkering and finally ive fixed it!! Turns out faulty memory simm, which is odd as the alert lights, and the HP manual claims it was a bios fault, and pcworld said its a bios fault, my local laptop repair shop, its a bios fault! hahaha! on you all its not, just a faulty memory simm. Now to order £40 worth of memory this 1gb is really slow!!
