Man, that's not good, then. PS5 is so much faster, it blasts through downloads. Wonder what I should of got in this PC to make that part better.

I downloaded the GeForce stuff. I can't actually get it to show the FPS in game, even though i set it to show in the top corner of the layout. More playing around with it, I guess. 

 

I'm not sure I have any headphones with that jack. The Xbox headset goes in to the controller and the PS4 headset works with a dongle but I'm not sure where that is. I don't have any other headphones. 

 

I have created and reset so many accounts today lol. The amount of 'Enter Name' > 'Maf' > 'Not Long Enough' > 'Maf40404040'> 'Name Taken'>'Shake Head Gif'

No you dont get it, 6MB/s is the same as 50mb/s. If your PS5 is doing 50, then your PC is matching it. It's a different unit of measurement. Megabytes is MB, megabits is mb. Gog is giving you 50mbp/s. Click on that link and enter 6 into the MB/s input and have your mind blown

 

I don't remember the spec of your motherboard but I would be stunned if it wasnt' specced for a gigabit speed ethernet cable. But anyway, if 50 is your speed then 50 is what you just got from GoG. Playstation doesnt report download speeds when you download games off it anyway

That should work, should be the same connector, the pc might have separate mic and headphone jacks but if you just use the headphones one theyll work as headphones but the mic wont work.

It came with cables, screws, brackets, unidentifiable bits of plastic. I'll keep it all and maybe figure it out later. 

 

Also I thought this PC came with a copy of Guardians but haven't found anything for that yet. 

 

So work around for sound. Plugged the Xbox controller in, then the xbox headset in to that. Not ideal but will do for now. Thankfully I came in to £150 worth of Amazon vouchers so might just buy some nice speakers for this thing

Also it's doing this weird thing where if the mouse touches the white top bar it drags it around on it's own. I almost lost it in the corner of the screen but managed to fish it back out

You need to go into the graphics options for that game maf. You can set it to full screen, borderless window I think.

Ah. the joy of PS5. Where I can't use any controller besides a dualsense that keeps developing stick drift, have to use my phone to talk on discord with people*, and the games run at 30fps 1080p if I want to so much as turn on a reasonably demanding ray tracing graphics setting.

 

Also all that input latency, yuck

 

There's more setup with PC, but things like accessing graphics settings isn't difficult. Accent Core is 20 years old so it has that weird behavior of assuming you want to play it in a resolution for ants. But it receives updates all the time and can be set to 8K even. But a lot of what's going on in this thread is maf not understanding the difference between megabytes and bits and where the graphics menu is. Not really touching the tip of the iceberg for the ways PC can genuinely be annoying, which there are myriad ways

 

*this is literally why I got back into PC gaming, I've mentioned before. It's just really annoying playing crossplay games on Playstation cause of this. The sandboxed nature of it just sucks

I will say that my PC experience was largely plug and play really. 

 

There's a lot of setting stuff up, downloading GeForce Experience, running benchmark tests, downloading launchers (Steam, GOG Galaxy, EA Play, uPlay, Epic Games Store (free games!), Battle.net, LoL) and stuff but once I actually went in to play a game with a controller plugged in, it was largely the same as console. There's just a few more settings you may have to fiddle around with if the game runs like garbaggio.

Hmm. I'm checking my order and it says it comes with a Gamepass promo and a copy of GotG but unable to find either. Might need to email them.

I just have not. I looked at the list of things I needed to do like fuck about with the Nvidia accounts and put a code in to get another code that I put in elsewhere and then they give me a code for steam. Like why, just give me the steam code, you idiots. Making it much har4der than it needs to be.

I bought a Gears of War 4 code off someone who was getting rid of it. But now they tie it to nvidia to verify that you have the hardware that it was sold with

 

But it's shit though, I was supposed to get a code with Watch Dogs with my 3070. It was specifically advertised as such. Then they told me this was a mistake. Buncha see you next tuesdays, but a steam code would have worked if they didn't bait and switch me like that

 

On the other hand, it's a ubisoft game. Who cares lmao

Yeah, I can get sound through my Xbox headset. But I'm not a headphone fan so I need to buy speakers. 

 

Next problem is solving why my g-sync moniotr doesn't have a g-sync option. 

 

So far today I've played some Doom '93, some GG R Core 3rd and stood in the first room of Cyberpunk lol. 

 

I might go play some Halo on Xbox just for a break 

 

EDIT: Aye, figured out the g-sync issue. It can't do it through the HDMI, I had to use the DCP cable instead.
