Ipod and Windows 7.

So the latest version of itunes seems to fuck up ipods. It cant sync the ipod anymore, it always says Itunes was looking for a file and found a folder instead. What the hell does that mean?

A little research on tinternet suggests its a Windows 7 problem. Anyone heard of this/had it? Its fucked up both the misses's and mine now. Not too happy.

I've not had this problem, sorry dawg. I have Windows 7 64bit, latest iTunes, and 3rd gen iPod Touch.

Windows 7 Ultimate. Latest Itunes. Gen 2 Ipod mini, and it all works fine mate. Try reinstalling Itunes.

Same here, I moved to Win 7 a I was struggling with an unpatched version of XP (don't ask) and it has been totally fine ever since. With iPhone 3GS and 4 running off the same account, all good.

Gotta be a re-install I reckon also.

You shouldn't do mate. But to be on the safe side, there is a way to back up your settings.

I'd say the worst that will happen is that you'll have to re-point iTunes towards your music folder but the folder and files themselves shouldn't be deleted.

When you re-install iTunes check to see if the songs are listed and will play if you double-click on them - if not go to File > Add Folder To Library and find the folder that has everything in it and give it some time, depending on how much is there.

That worked, nice one. Wasnt as straight forward as it should be but after re-installation and a little twangleing ™ it all works again.
