retroed
On my old Hannspree 720p LCD, I was using the 'Optimal Resolution' setting in the display options, and it picked 1360x768. Trying the optimal setting on my new LG 720p LCD gets the same resolution, but it looks ever so slightly blurred. Going back to 720p and everything looks super sharp and very vibrant. I have more options on my TV when using 720p, going to optimal blocks out certain features on my TV such as backlight, sharpness, dynamic contrast etc. The only reason I want to go back to optimal is that I get a bit more picture on screen, 720p is zoomed in slightly. The mission objectives on MW2 for example, on 768 they're all visible (extreme top right of picture), whereas on 720p I miss the first couple letters. So yeah, at the moment my display settings are: HDTV settings: 720p Reference levels: Intermediate HDMI colour space: YCbCr709 Display discovery: Enabled (turning this off removes the option for Optimal Resolution) Boring thread but what the hey. Is that wrong?? it's not wrong but if you have a spare monitor or something lying around it's probably worth giving it a go in HD
Jimboxy
it isn't wrong if you have the eyes of a hawk. I've got mine connected via vga as the rabbit chewed through my component HD cable. Looks fine to me though.
David
Seeing games played on a CRT is horrible to me now. It's not even the image quality per se, HDTV's just refresh and have much better colours. 37 inch HDTV.
Craymen Edge
Errrrrmmmm. Still use a standard def tv for my Xbox360. Is that wrong?? It's not wrong, it's charmingly old fashioned: like Mangles, coal fires, or Rickets. Until recently Sly got his videogaming news via Telegram Teletext.
