Nag 1,918 Report post Posted February 9 Looks like something's brewing in the Activision camp... Layoffs next week? It'll be the wrong people on the end of it once again if this happens no doubt.

Snaggletooth 37 Report post Posted Wednesday at 19:02 Seriously this is a fucking racket, Record breaking year and you make 800 people unemployed at a cost which is way less than half that which the top 4 earn. I know company exist to make money but the sheer greed over recent years is undefendable, Not just at Activision (cough EA, UBI plus many more) Seriously I hope everybody either buy their shit second hand or Pirates these Greedy Fuck Nuggets need a lesson in humility.
Sly Reflex 1,689 Report post Posted Wednesday at 19:07 Tell that to the pillocks that buy CoD year in year out. Or those fannies that buy lootboxes in Overwatch.
Snaggletooth 37 Report post Posted Wednesday at 19:13 Indeed, I could rant all day on the lack of ethics in the game industry and gaming media, but i only make myself angry, and I need to keep my blood pressure down. 🤣
merman1974 28 Report post Posted Wednesday at 19:16 I would point out, a lot of the redundancies are falling on office/administrative staff rather than developers. Still, it does look odd to announce record profits and slash the workforce.
AndyKurosaki 327 Report post Posted Wednesday at 20:03 Jim Sterling’s latest video throughly examines this situation. Activision expect the huge growth of profits to continue year after year, which is totally unsustainable. When the share holders get pissed off that they’re not making a kajillion dollars,Companies go with “the game performed below expectations”, and the layoffs aren’t far behind. It’s pretty disgusting.
