Started again as a siren. Miss my turret

So, came to power on my desktop today and the screen that greeted me looked like tartan. Tried typing passwords and working the computer but nothing would work. Had a word with Mighty Mika from gtm and he told me to open her up and make sure everything is seated, in particular the gfx card which he thought might be the problem. So, I opened her up, and made sure everything was connected. Did it make a difference? Did it fuck. To make matter worse the gfx card is part of the mobo as far as I can see, so it looks like new desktop time for me. Though something was just up with the display, but when I tried to power off (hitting the power button closes the desktop down) it just sat there not knowing what to do. Had to force power it off. Technology is a right cunt.

That definitely sounds like the graphic card have gone on the fritz. But you might be able to salvage the rest of the pc by fitting another graphic card. Check to see if you have a PCI-Express slot. Similar to the blue slot in this picture, but it might be a different colour. It's the pull tab at the bottom to look out for.

If you have, you can buy a graphic card, and your pc should be fine again.

You'd think I'd have learnt this lesson already, but DONT buy electronics from aldi.

They refused to even exchange my shitty memory card, with its original packaging, because I cant find the receipt. Understandable enough I guess, but they do have about 200 of them sat in a cabinet not getting bought because people have more sense than me. I explained it was the 2nd broken one I'd had off them, and I'd only had it 2 weeks, but no dice
