I dunno if I can make it red ring, it seems E74 is just overheating as well. I smelled through the fans and it seems a little funky/burnt. I'm a little scared about lying, are we sure they don't actually check to see the red ring? There was nothing wrong with it too, only last night it was fine, although I did notice some funny looking water graphics in Fallout 3. Guess that was it going...

This is slightly worrying: **NOTE** If you choose 'Yes', above, we will confirm that the three flashing light failure has occurred on your console upon receipt. If this cannot be confirmed, we may return the console to you unrepaired. So, now they want me to print off a label they'll send to me. I don't have a printer. Great. WTF do I do? I have a duvet over the 360 trying to make it red ring anyway. The fact that sambob lied about the red rings and got it fixed is giving me hope. After a while this is getting moved into the 'secret wrapping 360's in towels thread so MS can't catch us' thread.

I couldn't get the online service to work for me so I had to phone them up (with every stage of the answer machine tellimg me I can do it online, no I fucking can't, for the fith time!) and eventually got through to a charming, young lady. Essentially the label was posted to me in a box, I guess thats why then.

If you got it, your console would flash a system error warning (pictured above), and it meant your machine was fried. Which is probably why Microsoft have decided to issue an extended warranty for the fault, similar to the one offered to red ring sufferers. While the majority of Xbox 360 owners continue to have a great experience with their console, we are aware that a very small percentage of our customers have reported receiving an error that displays "E74" on their screen. After investigating the issue, we have determined that the E74 error message can indicate the general hardware failure that is associated with three flashing red lights error on the console. As a result, we have decided to cover repairs related to the E74 error message under our three-year warranty program for certain general hardware failures that was announced in July 2007. That's the, uh, "good" news. The better news? If your machine suffered from an E74 previously, and you had to pay for repairs, Microsoft will refund you the amount over the next 4-12 weeks. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water! leave your 360 alone without fear of it dying in your arms! I'm assuming this applies to the UK too

David Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Arrived back today, works fine, they put a new motherboard in and gave me a new DVD drive - why I dunno considering the old one worked fine.
