Heh I like the trainer cards! Might have to make one l8r, I didn't think the PAL release was till september?!? Thats wot my local shop said anyway, oh they've sold over a 100 DP's so far and I looked behind the counter and OMG you've never seen so many Pokemon games!

Also I've just lost over 2hr's of play argh, swear I saved it Bah!

Out of interest is anyone still playing this? I'm trying to write a review for Bitparade so I've got back into it. After the little break I'd really started to enjoy it again, I faced 2 gym leaders in quick succession (3 and 4) and met some new mons in the marsh. But now I'm back to walking between towns, random battles and the like and my enthusiasm has plumitted again.

Part of it I think is that my mons arent super powerful, they're all about the same as each other(Grottle is 28, the rest are between 18 and 24). I cant be arsed with level grinding, but at the same time my team arent strong enough to walk straight through an area, I have to inch my way through, then retreat to heal up. Looking back through the thread, there's a couple of people who were at least twice as powerful as me at this point in the game. I personally dont know how you managed to cope with the tedium that long, and I'm torn between being jealous and being proud that I'm managing it without superpowered mons.

I haven't played it since I got my sixth Gym Badge. It's not because I got bored, just that I've been playing other games and haven't gone back to Pearl yet. I enjoyed leveling up my 'mon, which is odd as I normally hate grinding.

I think the thing that pokemon tries to do with levelling up is sugar the pill by giving you evolutions and new moves between each part, but I agree it can get tedious going through a giant area with random wild mon battles and lots of trainer fights.

A good way of quickly levelling up your mons is to trade them and then trade them back as this way they get more exp. I didnt do this and just had to use revives and that sort of stuff to get through the big expanses of land. Also putting a weak pokemon in first and then trading it for your strong pokemon works well as it still gets experience, giving it the EXP share item means that the lower level mon that you switched out can end up with more experience than the higher level mon that did the dirty work. Ive had the same problem with a psyduck that i got at level 5 and im trying to evolve to the much better golduck, but it happens at level 40 or something

I think that the game still suffers from the tedium of grinding to gain levels but I dont think its as bad a problem as in other games. Theres no easy way to do it though, id check a guide to see if any of the mons you're carrying can be evolved with certain items...

I'm still loving the game. I don't know, but Grinding doesn't seem to affect me playing. To me, it's all part of the fun.

Currently have 4 Gym Badges, and slowly heading for the 5th.

over 127 hours into this game and still into this game. I'm constantly underground digging for items and I've been sending some pokemon from pokemon ruby(and a Jirachi from Pokemon Channel). Now I'm trying to capture Regirock on my Ruby so I can capture Regigigas ;D

If anyone wants, I can get you an egg of any of the Diamond/Pearl starters, Rotom or Gible.

Okay the global trade thing has nicked one of my mons and is refusing to let me re-connect...im not too impressed.

Just managed to connect and its not acknowledging that I have offered it, its basically been swallowed, thats gonna majorly harm my chance of being anywhere near good.

Ok thats me no longer playing this, can I take back my vote for it in game of the month?

No, on reflection I may have been over reacting, Ive seen its still there but it wont let me retract it, says communication error. I will have to keep trying.
