Awesome, will definitely be listening to this one!
  2. Yeah, way too much Hellgate talk, and MMO chat in general. For the first time in a 1upyours podcast, I fast forwarded through that and skipped to the news. A podcast I'm really enjoying at the moment is the EvilAvatarRadio one. Last week they had the voice of GLaDOS, and Jonathon Coulton (the writer of Still Alive, end credits of Portal). That was a great episode.

    Arcade Fire

Ah right! I just had a look and it looks like the band are no more, though. Is Jenn the really annoying one who guests on retronauts sometimes, or am I thinking of the wrong person? Anyway... Fucking idiot. Not Win, by the way.
  4. Lots of good podcasts can be downloaded by visiting the individual sites, HERE. I download manually each sunday, I don't use iTunes...

    Arcade Fire

Well I went to Cardiff to see Arcade Fire yesterday, and man it was awesome. Well worth the 340 mile round trip! We had a fantastic time, and they performed superbly. Here are some pics, the shaky ones taken from a distance are mine, the closer ones I nabbed from somewhere. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=10786&id=598138726 And there's some vids on YouTube if you search for Arcade Fire Cardiff, but THIS is one of the better ones.
  6. I hope you all realise I wasn't being serious in my WTF comment about Super Mario Galaxy only getting a 9. Taiko is better than a 6, though.

Nintendo will fix yours for a flat fee of £25. At least, that's what their policy for fixing DSes used to be!

It's also £19.99 in GAME at the moment, for the impulse shoppers out there!

    Halo 3

I'd like to play through on Co-op on normal, as I'm only part way through the second mission myself, haven't played it for a fair while. I have one achievement! Only thing is, I probably won't be able to play it co-op until Saturday or Sunday evening, from 8pm.

    New TV

The official component cable only seems to run my N64 VC games, and Bomberman '93. I downloaded the update for SMB NES etc, but it doesn't help. And none of my SNES games work! I guess I'll have to keep the RGB/composite lead nearby for times when I fancy some retro VC action. Anyways, here are some pics of my TV in gaming action: Hi-Res SMW on Super Famicom (RGB ) Hi-Res Pilotwings on Super Famicom (RGB ) Who said retro consoles look shit on HDTV's? And a couple 360: Hi-Res PGR4 on 360 (720p) Hi-Res Halo 3 on 360 (720p) Not bad, eh?
  12. Phooey wrote: WTF. So Super Mario Galaxy isn't as good as Burnout 3 or Gears of War. Dang! :pinch: And what's going on with the Taiko and Ratchet scores?
  13. PLAY Zelda: Phantom Hourglass [NDS] - having a blast with this Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations [NDS] - currently part way through chapter two PGR4 [360] - the best racer I’ve played in a long time, love it Halo 3 [360] - only 2 missions in on the single player, would like to try multi but I’m a Halo n00b Everybody’s Golf [PSP] - this is constantly on my play list WANT Super Mario Galaxy [Wii] - roll on the 16th, GOTY material? The Orange Box [360] - desperately want this, just for Portal SSFII Turbo HD Remix [XBLA] - when it comes out, that is Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga [360] - I’ve never played a ‘Lego’ game, this could be set to change COD4 [360] - maybe. The guys at EvilAvatarRadio really made me interested in this for some reason, for Multi A new PSP game or two - it’s been ages since I last bought one. But what to get? Super Paper Mario [Wii] - will get this if I see it for sub £20 BIN 28” Tosh CRT - given to the in-laws to make way for 37 inches of HD goodness
  14. Just thought I'd take a pic of the theme I am currently running on my Slim & Lite, a new feature allows you to change them. It is also possible to create your own, or just download them from yourpsp.com. Notice how the icons are changed as well as the picture!
  15. I have an official RGB Scart for sale dude, as I have just bought an official Component cable (green/red/blue jacks, this isn't Scart) for our new HDTV. Your TV has 4 Scart sockets?! Most have 2, maybe 3, and normally only the first is RGB enabled. RGB Scart will give you a superb picture on a CRT TV. If it's an LCD/Plasma then Component will give a nicer picture. If you want it, lemme know dude... £12 inc P&P?

    Gran Turismo 5

The Top Gear test track is featuring in the game! Arrrggh and I'm trying my hardest not to want this game.
  18. Ok, it's probably not quite as bad as ONM make out, but from the brief play I had of the game, it was a bit bland and boring. The levels may improve as you progress through the game. Designing your character and platforms etc is good fun, though. It's just not the game I was hoping it would be.
  19. This is apparently £26.72 in Toys R Us, for anyone who wants it but hasn't bought it yet.
  20. Personally I think ONM's score of Drawn to Life is spot on. The only good thing about it is that you can draw stuff. The actual game is shit. This month's ONM also has a feature on Mode 7, and the next best game in the world ever is Zack & Wiki. Mathers reviewed Dewy's Adventure, and he is normally correct IMO. Free stuff: Zelda metal Hylian Crest pin badge, and Mario & Sonic decals.
  21. Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix HD screens. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2025/171678...635503dd1_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2220/171678...bfe7a1255_o.jpg Looks absolutely amazing, I cannot wait for this. (also coming to PSN)

    New TV

Cheers all. Well I've had a little tinker with it and Freeview doesn't look too bad now, although it's nowhere near as nice as my Toshiba CRT. This was to be expected, though. DVD looks very nice via RGB, better than I thought it would. I am yet to try component as I don't have any leads. The 360 via 720p HDMI, however, looks SUPERB. No screen tearing or blurring that I have noticed so far (I have tried PGR4, Halo 3 and Pac-Man CE), and on the whole I am more than impressed. It really does look pretty darn amazing. So sharp. I am yet to try the Wii, but I shall be buying a component cable for it as I've read that's the best way to go. Shin, I've read that quite a few of the VC games have had updates that support component? If not, I'm not overly bothered as I don't have a great deal, and could always switch back to composhite(!) if need be. This TV does have a backlight, so the blacks are not as black as they could be. It looks fine on the 360, but on freeview it's a bit more obvious, although not so bad that it is unwatchable. You notice the backlight when you look at the TV from a wide angle, as the picture seems quite bright. Viewing straight on as you should be though, it is fine. Overall I don't think you will find a better 37" LCD TV for four hundred quid (or 32" for 300).

The question is, will Super Mario Galaxy be the third EDGE 10 in as many months?

    New TV

My Hannspree 37" LCD HDTV arrived today! I haven't had chance to play with the settings much as of yet, but I'm pretty darn impressed with it out of the box. A bargain TV for 400 notes. 360 is HDMI'd up, and I need a Wii Component cable now. If anyone wants a Joytech 360 RGB Scart or Wii Official RGB Scart, I'm your man! Excuse the mess, and say hello to Alfie!

    PGR4 [360]

Wow, popular game huh? This is the only game I've been playing for the last couple of days, and it's an absolutely superb racer. I'm having a great time with it, and am finding it pretty hard to find fault in anything it does. Controls great, looks great, excellent tracks once you have given it a bit of time, and the weather effects are amazing; they really change the way the car feels on the track. The bikes are fun to ride too, although I'm spending the majority of my time in cars. If you like your racers but are put off by hardcore simulations, then this is for you. It's in between and arcade racer and a sim, but there's no tuning and altering the cars last details, just choose your ride and drive. And then there's the Kudos system, which for those who may not know, gives you points for pulling off smart moves (drifting around a corner, popping a wheelie on a bike etc). These Kudos are your currency that you can buy more vehicles with. Excellent game, so far my favourite on 360, and one of my favourite games of the year. Sadly it looks like PGR 4 is being overlooked, what with it being released fairly soon after Forza 2, and the onslaught of other 360 games that have come out/are coming out.
