  1. I finally played this last night and it's every bit as good as I thought it woul be, I just need to get the hang of the altered classes. Can't say I did that well but thats because the time I finally get a game is the time I was half cut.
  2. The game I've played the most this week is Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. Two reasons really, one being the new DLC which is pretty good, I've had a little go on the new tracks and they are just as well put together and able of varied play as the ones on the disc, I just wish they were put into the main career because the new mode is just the speed runs with a leaderboard which is okay but you don't see the tracks in there best light in those. Thanks to the DLC I've come to quite enjoy the speed challenges too, I hated them before. The other reason I've been playing it is thanks to my power wire popping out of the PS3, probably while saving I lost my data but I have enjoyed going through it again, more so than the first time because I'm picking up gold medals all the time now. Skate 2 is still getting played but the challenges are steadily getting harder but I'm not spending much time on them, I'm mostly using it to mess around, the last session I had I must of spent ages trying to do a loop-de-loop but I did it eventually and I uploaded the video which I'm going to check out soon, there was no reason for it, I saw the structure and felt I needed to do it. I think I've found a sandbox game I genuinly enjoy messing around in. Thats it really, I would like to say I've been playing Battlefield 1943 but I still haven't been able to play it which is bullshit, the game should read that I have put many hours into Battlefield: Modern Combat and Bad Company and prioritise me or something.

    Books

You see I'm a stupid and don't read but the Bad Science book has me interested, I'm always having to tell friends/family how much bull shit there is when it comes to scare mongering with shite science and it would nice to have more reference material. I saw that thing that Armano whats-his-face did on Paradise Lost on the telly a while ago and then decided to buy it. I read the first section and was ironically lost on the most part. Maybe I should start my reading with something easier like The Hungry Caterpillar or a Dan Brown noval.
  4. I like listening to some Hold Steady whith a few drinks and this one stands out sometimes. I think it's lovely, little ditty.
  5. I played a little of GoW2 on the double EXP weekend too. I've given up on it as a competative shooter now, it's still too random when it comes to close encounter fights, there are atleast 5 better examples of online shooters and this isn't worth the time. Though a bit of Horde is pretty good.
  6. I've heard what Sony and Home's supporters have said it's meant to do for lets say finding someone to go through Resi 5 with. I can't think of avyone who would use Home for that, most will use a flesh friend, while some others would find a partner in a forum community like this one and if someone doesn't use either of these things then I reckon someone is more likely just to set up a lobby in-game to find a random rather than using Home. Like I said it's sole perpose looks like its for advertising, like some adverts on the telly these games they have could be quite fun but I wouldn't go out of my way to play any of them, my opinion, natch. After a little pondering I hope loads of people use it though, that way advertisers think that their stuff is getting recognition and use that as a way of peddling their shit and keeping it out of games, no obvious and lingering shots of Nathon Drake in a Jeep Cherokee, chatting on a Nokia, outside Ikea or something. S'pose Home may serve some purpose.
  7. Hollywood bods are really running out of ideas arn't they.
  8. My experiance of it is that I made a guy that was meant to look like me but the options are so bad I couldn't then I ran around the - at the time - new Resi 5 area, got bored and did the samba with a guy dressed as Batman, then I saw a Watchman trailer on a wall. To me it's like having a TV channel dedicated to adverts, it's bollocks and I don't even see any kind of potential that it is often said to have. As far as I'm concerned anyone that defends it as a worthwhile thing goes right in my blinkered fanboy book.
  9. I think I'll get it if the rest of the old squad does.
  10. Isn't it more of a panel show, I quite like those. I'm not much of a hardcore TV watcher, though.

    Xbox Kinect

My accent is quite strong but I have a 'telephone voice' which can be drawn out when needed so I wouldn't think I'd have a problem, I've never played any game where you have to talk to it so I have no experiance with them.
  12. I had a wee go at this the other day and my power cord just popped out while playing. Now I have lost all my data, my online rank is still intact but everything else is gone. I guess I best get back to it. Edit: I got the DLC for it tonight, not a bad amount of content for £4 something. three tracks and a new online mode and maybe a handful of new vehicles. The new mode is the speed stages from the career mode but with a leaderboard. Theres something to do with being rewarded with new paint jobs if you maintain so many leads over your friends and 'rivals' whatever they are. Go and read about it if you want proper facts, I'll have a better idea if it was worth it after some more time.
  13. You're right, it means it's too hot.
  14. I've been playing Skate 2 most of this week. I'm enjoying it on the most part, it's certainly the most demanding game I've played in quite a while but I've been wanting a game like that lately, simple street skating type stuff I've pretty much got, well nearly. Some challenges require you to do precise combos an pulling off the exact required move is fiddly. Vert ramps I need to work on to, I can barely do anything on them. While not pulling off sick tricks I've been dabbling with Vin Diesel in Chronicles of Riddick: Assualt on Dark Athena which to be honest has shattered the old rose-tinted glasses, I really enjoyed it on the Xbox but I'm having a real hard time playing it, I heard people say it still plays like a five year old game but I've allways thought that most games haven't moved on a great deal but this shows they have. It's just frustrating, maybe I just suck but I don't remember having much trouble the first time but now I'm baffled by every challenge. I'll stick with it, there was bound to be some reason why I liked it originally. Surprise of the week has been Super Stardust HD which I picked for for the sum of £1.59 off PSN and I'm really happy with it, just another twin-stick shooter but it plays really well, just as good as Geo Wars. I don't really know what else to say, its as fun as a good example of the genre should be.
  15. Sounds like a buyers guide, if thats what they're going for then fair enough.
  16. There are probably loads of different people with different gaming habits, more than someone can think of enough buzz words for. I have friends that sit in that casual gamer catagory quite snugly, I know someone else who isn't that into games but is more than happy to get into the latest FPS or Racer (he is the only person I know that was happy that CoD5 was set in WWII, 'But I like WWII games' he says, 'but loads of FPS' are set in WWII, arn't you sick of them?' I asked. 'No, didn't know there were loads'.), though he did quite like World of Goo so there is hope for him yet. My cuz is an odd one, she isn't into games but thinks Wii Fit and quiz games are brilliant, is always robbing my Metal Slug games and ratches out her fella's Megadrive everynow and then. And I'm sure other you all know people who don't exactly fit into any existing label, dunno what this has to do with the original post, sorry.

    Wii Music

This site must be the only one on the internet that goes 'Wii Music? aye, pretty good' I wish I tried it now.

    EDGE 204

I thought most places would give The Conduit a bit over average scores at the least. what I like in games usually differs to what Edge consider to be good so it hasn't effected whether I'll get it or not, I was sitting on the fence with it anyway.
  19. What?... it is if you don't like MMO's and like vaguely interesting characters and like to be placed in a world where you give a shit. Just my oppinion of course.

    Wheelman

I like the idea of a missus that is a flamenco dancing theif, getting all passionate on the dancefloor and after a few quick twirls you find your boxers in her teeth. How hot is that? I think I played the demo.. Maybe not. It just didn't seem like something that I wanted to play.
  21. I really enjpoyed going through this but I hit a boss a good 35 hourrs in or so which would require epic grinding, I just couldn't be bothered because about 5 - 10 hours before that already did some epic grinding. I think it is good, I really liked the characters in a Disney-ish way but under that is a harsh JRPG, I've tried to get into DQ IV on the DS but a similar thing is stopping me, I just don't have time for this kind of game. I would recomend it to someone that does, not in nasty way, just, y'know..
  22. I wasn't online during the time Battlefront was out so it passed me by, offline is a bit crap. I had Div3r too, garbage. FF12, garbage and Pikmin I never really got the hang of. I'm not playing aything retro-ish at the mo, I might rumage about and find something. EDIT. Oh, Battleforce. I dunno what flip that is.
  23. It was only with my recent playthrough I discovered that the Scythe kick any boss' ass, I only used it before as a crowd clearing weapon but it is - despite its size - a very effective 1 on 1 weapon. The only boss I still struggle with (bar the final one) is the lightning dude.
  24. Nicely put, I felt the same but couldn't really explain it, the music is so much different during that boss fight as well which makes the atmosphere even more awkward.
  25. Good work as usual. Just one thing Ben said about Madworld and its sales, I said the exact same thing during Madworld's release on GTM, you'd be surprised how many people disagree. And Hendo made Wii Music sound much better than it ought to be.
