13 is one of the few FF's I've finished and I played some a bit ago on PC. I really like the strange world of it, the graphics are also amazing in the game. I really like the battle system and particularly the battle theme. I think it has one of the best battle theme's in the series. I also don't mind the linearity, either. Not really a problem for me. My problem is when anyone opens their mouth 😅 replaying it last time on PC, I forgot what an absolute dork Snow is lol. I also never liked the summons being vehicles. I dunno why. I just dislike the idea. Even though being one of the few games I've finished, I would still say it's extremely mid and one of the weakest games in the series. It's not terrible, but there's little of it that's great either. I know these aren't FF games but just to throw out there, if you want to play classic 2D style JRPG but modern then both Octopath Traveller 2 and Unchained Echoes are excellent JRPGs. OT2 is like every JRPG rolled in to one, but a lot more rich and mature than most games in the genre. Unchained Echoes is designed for JRPG experts. The game starts off very difficult and complicated, like the mid-end game of most JRPG's, but it's hook is HP and MP are refilled automatically after every fight, so every fight right from the beginning requires the player to go all-out, every time. The writing is a bit hit'n'miss, but still excellent game

haha it doesn't look easy. I think you need a pre-emptive style when in normal mode, and aggressive style when in jealousy mode.

This is what I’m saying, but just from the other side. There’s really good stuff in the game, obviously. But it’s also an uneven game. And I get that for a lot of people the good bits are worth pushing through the rest. But literally every time I’ve played it the struggle got more real. I got to the Costa Sol bit on the Switch last year and reached the limit But that’s all I have to say on it. FF7 is an all time classic and I’m not trying to talk bad about a game I generally like. But for me the rougher parts are what stop me from liking it as much as everybody else does Also I was curious about the differences in FF4 earlier, because I know they exist but I didn’t know what they were specifically Yeah. I would say counter to @OCH don’t play the 3D DS remake. The game is a bastard (unless you’re in to that than here’s a ball gag to go with the game)

I mean, calling some of the bits in FF7 flaws is what I mean. Running around a desert waiting for something to happen. Trying to find the perfect spot to jump on a dolphin. Whatever that ancient maze dungeon is, I forget. Like there are parts of it that just aren’t very good. And that’s not to say it’s all like that. The majority of the game is good. But there are things in the game which isn’t about, oh look at the technological limitations or the ambition and how they couldn’t quite achieve it. That sort of defence I would save for the graphics and characters and such which are charming in their outdated, limited kind of way But then you get to the gold saucer where it’s never ending mini game shit which is just such a huge time waste. And fans be like “ Oh, but look you go on a date” and I’ve always been like yeah but the video game part.

I was thinking about throwing the idea out of a FF7 Original forum play through just so we can all talk about why the game is great And the very many reasons why the game is also not that great But I was playing it through on Switch again last year and know I just don’t have the willpower to get though this game again. All the bad mini games beat me down. Overall I think FF7 is a true video game classic for how important it is, it’s impact, it’s influence, etc. But at the same time I feel like the good and bad gets lost in the reverence It’s got that Star Wars 1 thing going on where it’s a really good film and important for lots of reasons. But then you watch Obi Wan fight Darth Vader and it’s like ahhh maybe not everything about this is the absolute gold plated masterpiece legend has made it out to be And even though context or lack their of will change/affect how people think of it today, there’s bit of game in FF7 that I think were never that great. But it got swept away though nostalgia and fandom

FF4 is brutal depending on the version. I know the 3D remake one I played was based on the JPN version which I couldn’t complete So if playing FF4 would be worth looking up which one to play, but that game is great. Unpopular opinion but I didn’t really like FF6. I thought the game was overly silly and there’s one playable character where it’s all stealing enemy moves or something I’m not saying the game is bad, but it didn’t grab me

Goes to show what I know about the popularity of hero shooters. The trailer on the Marvel YT channel alone has 1.4mil views in under 24 hours, and I’ve seen a lot of people on Twitter say they think the trailer is good and excited for it I was trying to hedge my bets a little bit because I’ve never played a game in this genre. But I think the game looks quite good as well The idea of Marvel characters running around shooting each other sounds dumb, but having seen it they’ve got my interest. Not saying it looks amazing or my most anticipated game or anything, but it looks kinda good

I think any trailer goes, as long as it’s one you think is good. I think that Gears trailer was the trend setter for slow, sad versions of upbeat songs that Giant Bomb used to joke about all the time

One of the best things about us here at Xbox is your games go with you wherever you choose to play Except for Diablo 4 No cloud nothing, no achievement nothing, no play anywhere nothing. I knew there would be no achievements, but I was sort of hoping it would be a shared save on Xbox so I could have them pop over on console version I get this is technically a legacy Battle net game so not as simple for Diablo 4 to have all the same features as their other games. But it can't be impossible. Hopefully they fix it down the line as it feels like kind of a miss.

Different developer, game, everything, etc. But the last F2P Marvel game was Marvel Snap which is excellent. So it's not impossible. I think a bigger challenge for this game is selling a hero shooter in 2024

That MvC3 trailer is epic, actually. I haven't seen that before. I love the Mirror's Edge trailer and the song as well. There's lots of good GMV's for that on Youtube. The art style for that game is still brilliant.

One thing I actually really like is game trailers. Even though trailers are just marketing, I think there is a craft to it and when done well it's more than just a tool for hype. It's part of the experience of enjoying entertainment. First one for me is SS4 Gogeta trailer for DBFZ This is super cool. Reason 1 is at the time this seemed like the end of FighterZ, so the music choice fits it not only because Gogeta is a GT character and so is the music, but because GT was meant to be the finale for DB and it seemed like so was this DLC for DBFZ. As an extra, the way the music gets louder in the mix towards to end really works for me. It's very well done. Second reason is they did some super cool stuff in this trailer between the 2 Gogeta's. The beam clash, the DR tech, the bits where one is punching the other into immediate edit of one kicking the other. Is really cool. You can tell this wasn't just shots slapped together, they really thought about it. Thirdly, when Gogeta says "I got something real special for ya" that is he's OHKO super where if you get tagged with it, even at full health, you just die lol. But no one knew this until just before the character released so they actually managed to sneak the surprise in the trailer, without people knowing it, and saying look we have a surprise for ya. I love this trailer. I come back and watch this quite a lot. There's a few more I really like as well but thought I would see if others have suggestions before I just blast all the ones I like.

I'm not trying to act like I'm good at it or I'm regularly successful at it, but I think my favourite game right now is playing footsies. I love dash blocking, I love shimmying, I love just getting the distance right when the tip of the hit box catches the opponents feet. It's so satisfying and good feeling. When it works. Which is like 3/10 times. But, man, it's fun shit

I read FF16 has the posturing of GoT but is actually more like WWE But I don’t watch either so I dunno

In F2P MTX is more forgivable, though. They have to make money somehow. As long as the game is actual F2P, players can hop in whenever, and all the paid for stuff is cosmetic, should be Ok Assuming the game is even fun to play, which not my game, I can’t tell
