I'm with you on this. DMC3 is still the best. I think I actually preferred DmC: Devil May Cry over this one, it just appealed to my angsty 20 something self and I'm a massive Combichrist fan so the soundtrack was perfect to me, and 5 feels like a cross between DmC and 4 so... If we're sticking with canon though I place it higher than 2 and 4 for sure.

Finished. Weirdly I'm missing two endings ? I checked online to see how to unlock them and apparently they're part of the Normal Ending and should have just triggered, but they didn't. I have a feeling I had to clear all the enemies during the credits maybe? Ah well, I watched them on YouTube. I enjoyed it, but a lot of the story was ruined in the trailers so the impact was lessened, and the last boss was annoying and felt like a Kingdom Hearts boss. Was nice to have some questions from 10 years ago finally answered though. I'll pick it up in a sale and play through it again sometime, but I'm in no rush. Really glad to be proved wrong by this one.

Just starting mission 15. Really enjoying playing as Dante, he's definitely the most fun character out the 3. Gotta give it back to my mate now though so hopefully I'll get to finish it soon.

Starting mission 7 now so quickly reaching the half way point. Done a couple of missions as V and he walks a weird line between fun and boring. I've found it possible to pretty much button mash my way through the V fights and come out with A - SSS which is fun at first but get's kinda dull. And Griffon sounds like Iago from Aladdin. It's definitely the most accessible game in the series and feels a lot easier than the other ones. I reckon I'll have this finished tomorrow.

Just starting mission 4. It's funny, considering how cynical I've been about this I've got to hold my hands up and say I was wrong, this game is great. Even that fucking Devil Trigger song works when it's in the game, I guess it was just a terrible performance during the Game Awards last year. I died to the first boss because I wasn't using my Devil Breaker's properly, I didn't realise until mission 3 that you have to use them without holding down R1, I just thought I had a grabby Devil Breaker equipped. Nope. That's the default grabby. I've been playing a lot of Bloodborne, Demon's Souls, and Dark Souls lately (and when I say a lot I mean a lot courtesy of my new youtube channel ) so I keep getting the controls confused and exploding my Devil Breakers. My only complaint is I just wish dodging was better, but again I think it's because I've been playing a lot of the From Soft games. Anyway, time to see ho V plays.

Devilman Crybaby Absolutely brilliant limited anime series. 10 episodes, 20 minutes each, full of blood, boobs, and brutal demon slaying. Story is dark and crazy deep in places. Just watch it, it’s gebuinely brilliant.

Rekindling this this thread ? Started Remastered (why they didn't call it Rekindled is beyond me) on the Switch yesterday and just finished Blighttown and killed Qualag. It's nice to go back and play it now that I'm more familiar with the games as I can see a massive improvement in how I'm playing compared to how I was when I made the Let's Play series for Remastered on the PS4. During that playthrough Mark and I called people in to help with (and by help I mean carry) pretty much every boss and it felt really cheap, so I'm doing this playthrough 100% solo. No player phantoms. No AI phantoms. No jolly co-operation at all. It runs great on the Switch, even Blighttown, and the pick put/put down gameplay you get with the Switch (I'm playing in handheld only) is perfectly suited to this game. I'm soul lvl 40 something and have been putting most of my points into Endurance so I can actually roll in the armour I'm wearing, and a bit in strength so I can wield better swords. I've put about 3 points into Vitality and haven't had any issues at all. Been practising parry's and backstabs as often as possible too. It feels great to be playing this again ?

My girlfriend downloaded this this morning. She’s pretty good.

Devil Man Crybaby I'm not the biggest anime guy so I'm late to the party with this, but I was watching a dude on YouTube talk about this earlier and when he mentioned it was a remake of Devilman I jumped straight to it. I loved Devilman when I was a kid and had no idea this was a remake, I always thought it was a sequel or spin off or something. Anyway, it's great. Fantastic animation, great music, gratuity in spades. I'm having a great time with it.

I've been thinking about if it's possible to separate the paedo from the King of Pop, and it got me thinking, has the idea of Michael Jackson as someone who fondles children been around for so long it's just been normalised? It's been a known 'fact' since most of us here were in primary school that he was sleeping with kids in his bed, and that never stopped him being a music icon. Anyone else would have been crucified, but we just made jokes, brushed it off and continued to adore his music. The allegations the two guys in the doc made were absolutely horrific, but really it's not the first time we've heard stuff like this about him, so why the massive backlash against him now?

Not long until we find out how that's all handled.

It wasn't a bad performance, it just didn't set me on fire. She was't endearing like Chris Evans as Captain America in his fish-out-of-water story, and she wasn't charismatic like Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in hers. When she was being cheeky though she was great so I hope we get to see her being more like that in other movies. And I hope we get to see Rogue nerf the fuck out of her when the X-Men join the MCU because she's too powerful to be interesting now.

[reposted from Films because relevant thread] Wasn’t expecting much but it really surprised me. The story was fun with a couple of nice twists. The Skrulls were fantastic, and Mendelssohn absolutely stole the show as Talos. Seeing a bright eyed Nick Fury was fun, but one of the things that happens to him was unnecessary and really stupid. Like if there was a Top Ten Dumbest Things That Happened in a Marvel Movie list this would have a top spot. 90’s setting was a lot of fun, and the soundtrack especially gets a high score from me. Lots of nostalgia for the ears. Lots of Easter eggs and important links to the other movies that mostly work really well, but a couple are a bit on the nose. Its not the best MCU movie, but it’s one of the good ones for sure.

DMC2 has the coolest designed Dante though, and he doesn't dance like an actual child rapist, so there's that.

I agree with pretty much everything you said apart from Brie Larson, I thought she was just fine. Ben Mendelssohn though, amazing performance.
