  1. Reviews: IGN - 10 CVG - 10 Edge - 10 Gamestm - 10 Game Informer - 9.75 Nowgamer - 9.5 Polygon - 9.5 Destructoid - 9 Eurogamer - 9 Gamespot - 9 Slightly more measured than the response to GTA IV then... Can't wait to play it although it might not be straight away. Also, Rockstar are warning people not to install the play disc, only the install disc: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-09-16-rockstar-warns-dont-install-gta5-xbox-360-play-disc
  2. Finished Maison Ikkoku! All 96 episodes. Wonderful show, although it could have ended at any point after the half-way mark. Going to watch Paranoia Agent next and finish Cowboy Bebop.
  3. If I didn't split my time between Amnesia and Anodyne, I might get one of them in...
  4. Where are you all buying it from out of curiosity?
  5. Yeah Nier is one of those games I must pick up for the 360 along with Resonance of Fate and a few more.
  6. Luckily my laptop seems to be half-surviving. If I load steam up straight away it doesn't crash. I'm the only one in my house with a laptop that has a dedicated graphics card so I was starting to get worried... I've made some good progress in this. I've cleared all areas linked to the Back Hall and now I've taken the elevator down into the Prison...
  7. Angel Olsen - Half Way Home This came around the end of last year I think, but I've only discovered her now. Very nice old folk style. Similar enough to Laura Marling. Angel Olsen - Tiniest Seed King Krule - 6 Feet Beneath the Moon Love this album, one of my favourites of the year. Been listening to it regularly for over a month now. King Krule - Easy Easy London Grammar - If You Wait Another new favourite, fantastic album from beginning to end. London Grammar - Strong Neko Case - The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You I freakin' love Neko Case and this album is great. I heartily recommend everything she's done! Neko Case - Night Still Comes Volcano Choir - Repave I wasn't a big fan of Volcano Choir's first album but this sounds much closer to Justin Vernon's Bon Iver material, although he sings more in a lower register here. A nice surprise. Volcano Choir - Alaskans
  8. Like Simon has said, Rogue Legacy is 40% off on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/241600/ I should probably pick up Spelunky rather than wait for a discount... I bet you the day after I buy it it will be on sale.
  9. According to SavyGamer you can get it £27.89 if you use the code "BIRTHDAY7". X Y
  10. Well, it's a Mass Effect game, so it's really good. It was my least favourite game in the series though. It seems like it just sidetracked the main story that was building in the first game (and resumed in the third game).

    Child of Light

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-09-10-ubisoft-shows-off-beautiful-rpg-platformer-child-of-light http://youtu.be/zXBbB4sfEpQ This game looks beautiful.
  12. If you don't have a 3DS which do you think would be better to get? Does the 3D add anything?
  13. Definitely. I loved Dead Space and have been meaning to get the second one. Pm'd.
  14. Yeah Okami is a brilliant game. It's unusual in that's it's not paced like a Zelda at all, I don't remember that many dungeons in the game, just doing a lot of exploring. But everything about it is inspired. One of my favourite parts of the game was the Catcall Tower which was a nice homage to Dragon Ball. The length of the game is a bit hilarious. I definitely remember a wintery area towards the end that could have been cut from the game completely. But in spite of it's length you couldn't just give up on it, the game was too good.
  15. I'll take Dead Space 2 if it's still going.

    Anodyne

Anodyne is an homage to Link's Awakening that was released earlier this year. It has some of the most beautiful pixel art I've ever seen and a lovely soundtrack as well. Don't mind steam spazzing out in the corner... Anyway, homage or not, Anodyne is every bit as good as the games that inspired it, if not better. It reminds me of Earthbound as well with its sense of humour. So far I have come across nods to a few games as well as a hidden dungeon dedicated to a certain indie game that you will immediately recognise. I can't praise it highly enough. I've played it for a couple of hours and I could have posted fifty different screens. Another incredible indie game in 2013.

    Dyad

I have it but not tried it, might give it a go tomorrow...
  19. Yeah I'll definitely be playing Outlast, although I'm more excited for A Machine for Pigs and Asylum. I have to say so far Amnesia really is not that bad (scare wise I mean, it's an excellent game!). The worst part is the first hour or so, where you are waiting for the game to scare the bejeesus out of you. However I feel like the game has stepped up in intensity now. I'm in an area called Storage and it's definitely more intense than anything up to this point.
  20. Making good progress, I've cleared the Refinery, Cellar Archives and Archive Tunnels areas and now I seem to have come to another hub area of the castle, the Back Hall. File is 4 hours long now.
  21. In text: http://gematsu.com/2013/09/pokemon-x-y-bulbasaur-charmander-squirtle-mega-evolve-pokemon-bank-announce More details in the link.
  22. I'll play this with you. We need to get on Frozen Synapse as well. Sly, open up excel there...
  23. Pax demo of The Banner Saga: http://youtu.be/JDFfFHYUbO0 Well we know it's going to be a beautiful game, at the very least...
