  1. It’s nice that games like this can co-exist alongside FFVII Rebirth and Dragon’s Dogma 2.

    Avowed

Looks like a safe bet to be good. Just gives 8/10 vibes as of right now though.
  3. New release date of September 5th. https://www.eurogamer.net/stalker-2-heart-of-chornobyl-delayed-until-september
  4. Palworld is Early Access I guess, pretty sure that’s what it is on Steam anyway.
  5. I will buy certain games on Day 1 for sure - FFVII Rebirth, GTA VI, indie games even more likely. But for the most part I’m probably on the same page as Sly.
  6. Been watching The Final Cut version of this on Twitch and it looks like it’s had a serious revamp. The voice acting is excellent.
  7. PS4/PS5 demo is out for this now. https://www.rpgsite.net/news/15308-granblue-fantasy-relink-demo-launches-on-january-12-for-playstation-5-playstation-4 Anyone tried it?

    Radiohead

I’m a big fan. Their “debut” album A Light for Attracting Attention has some great songs, and I like the singles from their new one too (especially Bending Hectic). If nothing else, they’ve been pumping out music at a good rate (two albums in less than two years). Will definitely be picking up the new album on Jan 26th. Apparently they are much easier to get tickets to than Radiohead too. Still haven’t come to Japan though.
  9. Great point. I’ve often thought about it too.
  10. Currently exploring the Shadow Lands. Someone I did not expect to see has made a (re)appearance…
  11. Looks like a bit of goofy fun alright. They might have localised the movie by then too.
  12. All the large companies that came up insisted that I bring the computer in to their store - fuck that. I eventually found a small company who did call out repairs. Called them yesterday afternoon and they agreed to call out at 10am this morning. 10am on the dot up rocks a 70 year old Japanese man in a suit who spoke excellent English and seemed to know everything about computers. He took out the graphics card and replaced it with one he brought (which worked), so he was pretty sure the problem was with my card. I was resigning myself to the prospect of buying a new graphics card but amazingly, when he put mine back in, it worked. He said it was 80% likely a Contact Point problem (the card had come loose somehow or something) or 10-20% chance the card had “deset” itself when disconnected from the PC, or both. Anyway, really nice guy, and the best outcome I could have hoped for!

  14. More of a rant than a question. But my monitor suddenly stopped working with my PC. It works with the Switch, so it must be a PC issue. It’s just giving “no signal”. I’ve plugged it in and out 50 times and the input source is set to HDMI. I’m gonna call a PC repair company in the morning.
  15. Echoes of the Eye is very cool DLC for Outer Wilds, both from a visual and gameplay perspective. It was also quite a tonal shift for the game.
  16. Triple post. I realized I jumped the gun on my previous post, I meant level 6, not level 7. I wonder if it’s possible to reach level 7 in Act 1? Anyway, I wrapped up everything I had left to do, including: So I finally moved on to Act 2 after 60 hours. I chose the route through Grymforge so let’s see how this goes.
  17. Made huge progress! All that brought my party to level 7! Probably gonna start Act 2 tonight.
  18. I think I’ve done nearly everything in Act 1 bar a couple of battles. Although I’m sure there’s content I haven’t seen as I’ve explored most of the map with the same party members. Off the top of my head the only things I have left to do are: Regardless, I’ll probably be moving on to Act 2 soon.

Never heard of him to be honest.

    Dave the Diver

I was just wondering! By the way, this game has sold 3 million copies, which is insane. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/six-months-on-from-its-full-release-dave-the-diver-has-netted-3m-sales
  21. To be fair, having played 30 hours of Tears of the Kingdom and 50 hours of BG3, if I felt there was a clear gap between them I would rank them, but I love what I played of both so I have to wait until I’m finished. Also, I loved vanilla Cyberpunk (at least the version I played, 1.2 I think) so Phantom Liberty could easily be my game of the year. And I love Harry Potter like any child of the 90s so that could also be my game of the year.
  22. Can’t comment on GOTY as I haven’t completed the holy trinity of BG3, Zelda or Cyberpunk (or Hogwarts Legacy for that matter), but here’s my most wanted for next year. Most Wanted 2024 1. FFVII Rebirth 2. Hollow Knight: Silksong 3. Dragon’s Dogma 2 4. Elden Ring: Shadows of the Erdtree 5. Decapolice

Might be one for @spatular but Yuzo Koshiro (apparently a legendary composer) is making a Mega Drive shoot ‘em up. https://www.destructoid.com/yuzo-koshiros-genesis-mega-drive-game-earthion-releases-summer-at-the-earliest/ Out this summer.

It sounds a bit like the game Kenshi that also has an excellent reputation on Steam. Have you ever tried that?
