  1. Splatoon had a fantastic score. Really you could pick anything out and you'd have a good tune. I like this laid back bit of music from the shop. Strolling through the wastelands of Boston in Fallout 4 can sometimes kick this song out. I must have heard it a million times before but I never really paid attention to the lyrics. It's a good 'un.

I said it'd happen, not that it'd be excellent. Nor could it be Google that crack it. It might be some other company that manage it. It's coming though, whether we like it or not.

Oh there'll be MTX in those games as well. You can bet your bloodied colon on it.

Smaller devs? I think maybe it would be beneficial for small games that people wouldn't really take a punt on. I'm talking few man teams here, If they're being paid on minutes played like Spotify I reckon they could do quite well out of it. They wouldn't really need to continue putting content out, although some do. The developers between the indies and the AAA studios? I've no idea how that's going to work out for them. It's a hurdle they're going to have to find a way of jumping though, since there's no way around this. Streaming will be eventually the way we consume games. People will try to cling on to physical and it might become a hobbyist thing in the same way vinyl has become, but physical is going out the window. First it will be digital only and then moving on streaming will go to take that crown.

I don't think he's mentioned anything like that, so no? It's going back a long time, but if I think it is who it is, that kid was a right dickhead.
  6. I don't know, Jill nearly drove us insane on Resi 5. Also: "Gimme an egg!" ad infinitum.

Opened my mouth too soon. I found three of them in my last session. One of them was for melee combat which I don't do, so that was pointless. The others were for lockpicking, which I can do OK, but the buff will make it a tad easier and explosive buffs, which is semi decent for when I'm chucking grenades about. I've found a fair few magazined that give better buffs, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. A perk is a perk. I did the brain thing with Kellogg and ended up picking up a guy call MacCready. I really like fighting with this guy, he can fight at all ranges and be competent. I opened up a mission with him where he wants to go sort some people out and will be doing that soonish. I got justice on someone committing murders in a quest that wasn't signposted. Also did a bit of side side questing, checking out rumours and stuff written note terminals or notes. Ended up the night by cashing in some Brotherhood stuff and now I'm on the big thing at the airport. Danse is with me and I've to go around talking to people that I don't particularly care about. I'll do it next session.

That's Kellogg dealt with. He basically almost confirmed what I suspected where the story would go in regards of Shaun. Such lazy story writing. I went back to Starlight to drop off some shit. Some Minutemen were fighting with Mutants on the east side. They died. What they weren't expecting is that 16 settlers were ready to roll over them like a tiny personal army. I repaid their huge courage by building a pub for them. They've earned it. I found a bobblehead on my journey. These things must be super well hidden because I've not found many of them at all since I started playing. I think this is the third one I've found.
  9. Giant Bomb not understanding games mechanics? Whatever next? 🤯
  10. Just because it doesn't affect you doesn't mean it isn't an issue. It was full of glitches that people exploited to win and rife with bugs where stuff wasn't working as it should be. I actually think @retroed posted one where where he was killed through a floor with a knife or something. Rainbow 6 Siege was full of issues when it first launched, it's only over the time since they've managed to claw that back and get it on some good standing. There are calls for another redo since they've added so much that issues are starting to pile up. But sure, Blakey had a good time so that means nobody else ever had problems nor did Ubi Montreal have to put out lots of fires. Operation Health didn't happen because of goodwill. It happened because it was fucked and it needed to be done to even the game out so they could pursue the E-sports scene.

@DifferentClass has a very good point. It sort of reminds me when iTunes started up and people could cherry pick songs from an album. As a result albums supposedly saw an increase in quality overall instead of packing them out with filler. It could go in either direction. The newer games that end up on these services could be all killer no filler or they could end up being packed out and bloated to warrant their price point. EA have been very smart with that Origins Access thing they've done. I know that's not streaming but from a concept of distributing games through a subscription. You have a rolling thing where a game on the service has content drops every 3 or 4 weeks across several games and eventually you're going to make more money than the original one off payment you might have gotten. More so if the players end up buying MTX within those games.

That's the trade routes set up, or at least some trade routes. I set one from Sanctuary to Red Rocket, from Red Rocket to Starlight and from Starlight to Hangmen's. There's still settlements that have to be connected But I don't see the point just yet. If they get attacked I'll go to the settlement through a settlement that I can send out a trader and then build up from there. Aside from that, I did some Brotherhood stuff tonight. Then I went and searched for a guy called Kellogg. I also did a fair bit of building. I actually wired up a building with lighting. It wasn't as hard as I was expecting. Sort of want to set up shops and those scrapping desks next. I'm looking at making Starlight a market area. I have ideas, it's just getting the materials for it. I always seem to be down on one thing. I've actually started looking at the traders that come through and buying all the stuff that's a few caps and then chucking them in the desk. I've not bought many shipments yet as they're too expensive, but if I get a lot of caps from the shops that might be my go to.
  13. The MTX could be extra heads. They sold a lot of heads and skins in the base version of BL2. They were pretty pointless as you only tended to see them when you were in menus. Small would get good value out of them, then.
  14. Competition is good. It stops those at the top becoming complacent. I don't like the idea of exclusives, nobody does, but at some point Valve are going to have to react because the more ground they allow Epic to gain the more it's going to snowball and the harder it's going to be to squash. As much as I don't like it I can hardly blame Epic. They've seen a way to leverage the market and they're going to capitalise on it.
  15. Handsome Collection was Borderlands 2 and The Presequel bundled into one package. There was no remastering really, it was just a case of them putting all the DLC an bits and bobs onto one disc. Borderlands 1 has never been release outside the vanilla release and the GOTY release on the previous gen. Since it features no Handsome Jack it wasn't part of the collection. Makes me wonder if they've done a proper job of it on PC this time? The PC version of Borderlands 1 is notoriously bad.
