  1. Yes it did... the tiers were fucked before this rejig. There's a clear progression curve now unlike before.

  4. Making slow progress playing in bed on the PSP compared with the rest of you. I’m not even up to the boss in World 2 yet, have 100%’d everything so far. Absolutely loving it.

  7. Perhaps if they could put in embedded public domain tracks and some sad radio announcement about 'service disruption' to cover for offline they might get away with it ?

  8. You can kind of set the clock to when MS is going to make a whoopsie. It's about 24 hours after a) good news from themselves or b) bad news from the competition.

  9. I was about to say, that would be a very silent experience when playing offline, though I presume if any game can get away by just slapping an always online requirement on it, even for the singleplayer mode, it's probably GTA. In the same way HL2 brute-forced Steam on PCs back in the day (that was 20 years ago btw., just in case you haven't felt old in a while).

  11. I feel like this is where gaming will go anyway in some genres. You can feed in your choice of DAB stream in the Euro/US Truck Sim titles, and you've been able to rip your own soundtracks since the days of OG Xbox. Pretty sure Forza Horizon lets (or used to let) you stream your Spotify playlists, too. Put 10-15 tracks in FIFA 26 and then 'encourage' playlists as a back of box feature. Boom. Done. It would do a huge disservice to something like GTA, though. One of my favourite memories from 5 was bombing down the coastal road with Rihanna playing. GTA IV was all about the Phil Collins track. It's not going to pull me in if I'm listening to the same tunes I've been listening to since I was 16. You'll lose that sense of place, so in that respect, R* probably SHOULD be offering more for licensing.

  12. https://www.eurogamer.net/xboxs-new-game-pass-standard-tier-yanks-access-to-starfield-hellblade-2-diablo-4-and-more They’re not just removing future 1st party games from the standard tier, they’ve removed previously available 1st party games from the standard tier! No more Diablo 4, CoD or Hellblade 2 for standard tier subscribers I’ve been waiting for a good excuse to say this. They’re cooked

  13. Wonder what their production & stock levels are going to be - in terms of they almost want to keep the price high and stock low to keep that element of sustained desire for a niche, esteemed, desirable product - rather than be seen to have a bunch of them stagnating on the shelves that won't shift until there's a significant price drop. So weirdly it's likely to be the want to own, rather than the added functionality itself, that'll shift many of these units.

  14. Do you guys know there's hidden levels you trigger from flying around the map? If you see an asteroid appear crash in to it for a level

  15. GTA VI? I don’t see that hitting 60fps on Pro. Thank you! I fucking hate these adjust for inflation things that always pop up when discussing the price of stuff. Wages haven’t climbed at the same rate so £600 now feels just as expensive as it did 15 years ago. Billionaires and record breaking profits have made inflation go up not our wages.

  16. Wasn't really paying attention last night and only later realised it was 700GBP, meaning it's 800€ over here (without a disc drive or a stand). I can't really put myself into the mindset of someone who would buy a console like this. It's not even the price per se, it's just the idea of what else you could do with that amount of money, even limited to purchases in this very medium. That's like a year's worth of games. Or, presumably, a Switch 2 and the entirety of its launch lineup. I'm aware I'm rather low-tech, but this entire thing just seems nonsensical, even more so than I thought pre-announcement (where I was expecting 700€ at most with a disc drive).

  18. Keighley is over here shilling for Sony trying to convince us that the same price as the old consoles. Of course inflation doesn't mean current buying power. I hate this man I hope he slips in the shower.

  19. Amazing. I thought consoles were meant to be a cheap way to play games? That pricing is obscene. Honestly, if you buy this, you sort of have more money than sense. This is the gilded idiots choice.

  20. & it’s done. Including platinum. 14 hours since Saturday! Astro-nomically good. Bring on the DLC challenge levels. The existing ones were some of my favourites so can’t wait for more of those. 10/10. I cant really fault it.

  21. I had a free day yesterday and just could not put this down. Done all worlds 100 and collected all bots. Unlocked what I believe is going to be the final boss before calling it a night. Want to savour what comes next. It’s just been incredible start to - potentially - finish. Every level has just been so much fun and impressed me in one way or another. I feel about this how people tend to talk about Nintendo’s games but for whatever reason not felt with them since 64 days. Just fantastic.
