  1. Been keeping an eye on this for what seems like ages, there's also a demo on PS5 right now... although I'm ignoring that.

  2. Yeah, but check in the bottom right of your taskbar if you haven't inadvertently switched to English (US).

  3. I find that very difficult to believe, and now regard you as a kind of 'Paul Serene' figure, manipulating time for your own nefarious ends. I hope your as handsome as him, with that evil Irish thing he's got going on. Plus, Hellblade isn't abstract. It's a very clear (and reportedly accurate) depiction of mental illness, and even goes as far as telling the player before the game starts. I think your using philosophical terms out of place to impress onlookers. Yet another Paul Serene trait. I've got your number, buddy. And if I wasn't stuck in 2025 I'd do something about it.

  4. My edits were done before you posted. Are you lost in time again @bellow? I told you about that before, stop time travelling, you don't have your license yet. I don't think Hellblade is complex. I think it's one of those games that hides behind being abstract and claims complexity. The few ways it relates to mental health are either on the nose or a really big reach. Returnal does the same, but it has the buttons to back it up.

  5. Yea the molly coddle aspect is a pretty big negative. Whenever I ask people about it they get really defensive (not on here, but on other places I asked and basically was told to not be a paranoid bitch, their tv was a year old with no burn in yada yada). Like 1 year is not a long time and I think the whole 'vary your content' thing is such a handwave, as if people who like to use their TV for a limited set of functions (CNN, sports, a fighting game, MMOs) somehow don't count. What I find is some people make the product their identity (it's a fucking TV) and it's hard to get any good information and they just parrot marketing materials Lets see how it goes anyway.

  6. Me and you have very different ideas about what a hollow gaming experience is. For me if I played a game that had great story and characters but there was no substance to the button pressing I would call that a hollow experience. I don’t come to games for story or narrative really that’s just the sauce or glaze over the meat. If there’s no meat though then that’s a hollow video game or some metaphor I don’t really do metaphors shuddup @bellow But I can play games all the day that don’t have story or reasons for the action. I don’t need story, at best I need a partial excuse to hit buttons and do stuff. I can walk away from games like that and be perfectly satisfied and say man that game is great don’t ask me what it was about. Hellblade to me is a hollow gaming experience. It’s Ok but the button pushing is not interesting enough and I find that buttons are more interesting than the reason for the button pushing. EDIT: I’ll say with rare exceptions as a disclaimer because I’m sure there’s some game with dull gameplay but good story that I like that I can’t think of off the top.

  7. I haven’t seen a QLED in over a year and I don’t think I was looking at the newest Samsung model even at the time. Maybe it would be 2 years old now. So I don’t know what new QLEDs are like but at the time it wasn’t enough. I wouldn’t say it was night and day or it was a bad TV at all, it still looked really good. But next to the OLED. I couldn’t let go. I will say after having an OLED since 2017 I still don’t get tired of it. Even now I put something on the TV and I’m like how does it look like that. It’s like a fucking magic trick. I was talking a few weeks ago about the PS5 dashboard and how when it comes on it gives a similar feeling to when the lights go down in the cinema. A lot of that is also to do with the OLED. I don’t really know how to describe it. The OLED can even make looking at a dash feel like an experience. It’s so good. Don’t watch terrestrial channels on it though that’s a different kind of experience holy shit.

  9. The story in Control is fine, there's nothing wrong with some vague spaces in a story so long as there's enough of a narrative framework to get some meaning out of it. Like the whole game is supposed to be about the investigation of phenomena which aren't explainable in our own terms, so it would be a narrative failure to have a story where all that stuff was super basic and concrete. It's trying to achieve an effect which isn't just weirdness for weirdness sake, tbh I just think people aren't used to weird stories cause Control's was very vanilla and maybe even explains too much imo
