  1. I am surprised anyone gives a fuck tbh. As long as you can load the game and it's within a decent-ish time, then rock on. As long as we're moving away from HDD and onto SSD then the load times will be acceptable to excellent, depending on what's asked of them.

  2. Can't be any harder than Boulderguist with a daredevil comet hovering. That's going to be my side game when Cyberpunk comes out. Yes, that's right, I'm fully planning my next gen game pass experience.

  3. Both are custom I believe but Microsoft used an off the shelf PC one that was available when they designed Series X, Sony’s is one with speeds not yet possible in the PC market (but will be shortly). Source So the PS5 SSD is more than double the speed of the Xbox one.

  6. This is speculation but one of the big things coming to PC with new RTX cards is a thing called RTX IO, which streamlines the CPU cost of doing incredibly fast loading of assets in. It doesn't come out until next year I think but I've heard it get compared to what Sony and MS are doing with their new tech. So I'm gonna conjecture that we aren't seen the equivalent MS tech being used here just yet with these old games and possibly never will depending on its implementation You know where I reckon you'll the first noticeable difference, it's in navigating the dashboards. I don't know what Xbox looks like but I bet it runs just as shit as the PS4 UI does. That stuff is going to be like butter now like when I was saying to nag about the glory of loading 100s of thumbnails on windows. It's glorious I tell you Also it takes me 10 hours to download RDRII, fucks sake. edit my PC loads Control in less than ten seconds, faster than XSX ?

  7. Only just seen this. Wow, most of those are nowhere near as quick as I'd hoped.

  8. Sounds like a solid tactic that for some reason I never tried. I remember also using the Azula (?) Adept card a lot but I forget what it did - summon units? Strengthen them? I just know that it had some great chemistry with one other unit. But I just couldn't figure out a way to build something around them. To be fair I've never been good at deck building and this is arguably the only fight in the entire game that asks you to build a deck specifically to counter your opponent. For everything else you can just use whatever you want and maybe pay a bit attention to whether those cards work together or not and even then it's not even a must. I didn't have Black Rayla though. She left me in the swamp. Too bad, really useful card. But she kind of made everything a bit too easy in the early game. I think I actually might replay this over the holidays. If I do, I'll try to beat that final boss on Normal. Kind of bugs me to this day.

  9. I overhauled my deck totally after a couple of failed attempts, and went back to using the Lyrian Banner and Meve Longsword, to increase my unit strength - rather than eliminating their units. I won the first round quite comfortably, got up to something like 50 v 10 before they passed. On the second round I decided to go for victory, so used my Mahamhak Ale trinket, then later I brought out about 5x Stray Slinger+ using the Reinforcement trinket, then used their 3 shots each for 4 damage, to gradually damage their units, then used Reynard Odo (summoned by Black Rayla) to refresh their orders. I also had a bunch of Knights that summoned from deck when Neve used her order (with Loyal) which helped my overall strength too. Then again so did Gascon - since his strength benefitted greatly from all the movement the slingers caused. So doing that, carefully not to eliminate units, this reduced opponents strength by (5x 4 x 3 x 2) = 120 pts over the round, which meant they ended up with a whole bunch of low strength units clogging up their melee and range rows. Don't know if this is a repeatable strategy, but worked for me !

  11. Got 120 stars in Mario Galaxy. I didn’t plan to sit here all the day and play through this game, but the game is just so playable I couldn’t pull myself away. I haven’t even eaten since this morning I just kept playing and playing and playing for the past 9 or 10 hours or so. It’s just so amazing. The only thing about it which is kind of eh is how it finishes with all the purple comets. I forgot about those. Definitely not as good as how Mario Galaxy 2 handles it. It doesn’t have a extra hard bonus level for getting all the stars either. I forgot Nintendo hadn’t come to that realisation yet. Other than that, though, the game is a wonder. Now I just want to play Mario Galaxy 2. I hope Nintendo put that out soon. I took screenshots and funny videos of things that happened that I will post tomorrow probably. I need to not do any more video game stuff today I’m wiped out. It’s absolutely brilliant, though. Overall thoughts on this package? I still think they should of put in the work. Especially on Mario 64. I listened to the Beastcast today and they talkEd about how Mario 64 is super important but not a game that you need to play anymore. And I can’t disagree with that at all and that’s what I was saying before. People who don’t have the love for it already are going to miss out. I said this already but to quote Jeff it’s a decent compilation but they didn’t do right by Mario. I think all of them could have had the remake treatment but especially 64. Having said that I loved playing all of these games again. The original, the underdog and the champion. This package definitely deserved more love but there’s still 3 excellent games there. Unless you never played Mario 64 before then you might be in for a struggle. But I play that game easy it’s one of my favourite games ever.

  13. Yay 100% I needed to use a guide so much to get 100%. That was very shameful. Now I know how @bellow must feel when he plays games. I almost don’t want to talk about it. But I will. So if I remembered how to get secret shines that would of been less embarrassing. There were still 2 or 3 I would of needed help with but once you know the one thing to find most of them that’s really simple. Blue coins on the other hand I never would of found without a guide. I did find 191 on my own out of 240 and the calculator tells me that is just 79.5% so, ahh, not terrible but certainly not great. A lot of them were really, incredibly well hidden, though. It’s one of those things where you question how anybody found them all on their own at all. Also ther was a fairly large handful of cases where I did the right thing to solve something but obviously not right enough. Like before I was talking about Pianta Village and the platform on top of the tree. Yeah the thing you have to do to unlock that shine, I tried that. But I guess I just missed it or something. There were blue coins with the same story, too. Quite unfortunate. Some of them are crazy, though. Like, oh, on this random wall, spray it, boom, coin. I would never have got that. But done is done. One more time I absolutely had a real good time with this game. Like that was fucking awesome.
