I agree with this. That’s what I was talking about a few weeks ago (in this thread I think) how Sony are going to continue to just stay the course and not do anything radical like Xbox are doing because they don’t need to. Despite the good news today, Xbox have stumbled a fuck tonne just to get here and they still have more work to do. Sony still have every position of strength and that is especially true in the minds of most players. The only thing I disagree on is a console generation leap like this is usually where people do take the chance to swap back and forth instead of like a phone just buying one brand forever. But PS clearly have the stronger line up of titles and I like to think out of everything games still win the day with most people. Loyalties, power, price. I like to think that nothing sells harder than a game that looks fun/interesting and I think obviously PS5 has that over Xbox at this time.

At the risk of setting off a fanboy war (which I'm sure just doesn't happen here anymore), with the price news today and that GP is getting EA Play bundled in at the end of the year, I feel that Sony need to present actual Jesus at this point. Nothing worth buying a new machine for me this year, but if I was, it'd be Xbox at this point.

The PS5 looks like a rip off games console bought from Wish. It's beyond ugly.

Half step consoles are one thing but I still kinda hate that we're out the gate with a baby step console. I just don't believe it won't restrict the technical budget of devs going forward like XBone does now

I do think some people are underestimating the power of "it's Playstation" for the general populace. Plus libraries carrying over, Gold subs etc. It reminds me of Apple/Android, at any given point one might be better than the other, better value or better machines, but you stick with the only you're with for the most part I do think Sony could do with improving what PS+ is, maybe that's in the works, hopefully we'll find out soon now Microsoft have done their reveal. Sony still have the better launch line up seemingly, I suspect the price will be the same or less as the X obviously this isn't a criticism of anyone's choices, get what you want. Having a good pc means there's no reason whatsoever for me to get an xbox, even if I pick up GP here and there

My view on the Souls games is "anything goes". If the mechanics are there, use them. If the only way I will beat the game is by over-levelling or pulling in online folk to help me, then I'll do that because I would rather see as much of the game as I can than never move forward. It's a large part of the reason that I haven't progressed in Sekiro because you can't really do either of those things and you have to play the game the way it wants you to. I love the freedom that Souls and BB have - whatever works gets the job done.

PC has cross play I believe. You get xbox achievements and everything The best thing though is you don't have to play the games with a xbox controller, you can rev your chainsaw with a DS4 which I think is very cool

Here we have a classic case of someone that doesn't want the bubble of being good at games being popped. Get online, get banged and finally get better. Or be a little warrior telling us how you do this and that without any way to substantiate it because you've not gone toe to toe with the true obstructions in the game.

Basically they’re saying it’s the same problem like Halo. But probably not as severe as the lower end hardware won’t be so old, but still a problem for games on the Series X to really shine. I still think this effects PS5 as well. If a 3rd party game has to come out on everything then surely the Series S still holds back the PS5 game because even if the PS5 version looks better it’s not allowed to do something the Series S can not do on a fundamental level. But pure guess it just seems that way to me

They don't really make games I want to play very often, but that's great for people who do.

@radiofloyd put me on to this, I knew nothing about it going in. 'Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk' is a visual novel, a very strange one. I'm not sure what else there is to it, I need to replay it and fail to buy the milk I think, but it's definitely interesting. It's a very strange looking game, a bit like someone has taken real photos then ran them through teletext. Lot's of strange bold colours and some strange characters. It's been translated from Russian so it's hard to know how much of the dialogue is deliberately odd and how much is lost in translation. It's very strange, only about 47p, I'll play it again to see if there's more to it. As it stands it is just a visual novel that's about 15 minutes long. Interesting enough that I don't begrudge the money but not Doki Doki Literature Club
