I picked up my Ys: Memories of Celceta PS4 box last night and it felt weirdly heavy. Turns out it has a full colour instruction manual in it ?

I remember this being announced for switch then forgot about it and now it’s out! So that was a nice surprise. Cheaper than I was expecting at £16. It’s mr driller, so you drill stuff, collect air, and try not to get crushed. But there’s loads of different modes, well 5/6. one is just standard mr driller, one is pretty similar but in space with pickups that do random mostly useful stuff. The others change quite a bit more: theres Indiana Jones driller which has no time limit and is a bit more thoughtful, trying to avoid rolling boulders which are a pain in the ass, when you’re frantically trying to escape them it can become less thoughtful. vampire bat driller or something, where you have to inject holy water into the boulders with bats in them, then drill them and collect the stuff. Can’t remember if there was a time limit on this one. rpg driller where you drill through different rooms, find a key, fight slimes, kill boss with spells etc. Again no time limit. Each game has a few difficulty modes (4) but you can only do level 1 on all of them, then fight a boss level, which is a bit like a time attack mode. then it opens up level 2 on all of them. I’ve been really enjoying it as I like mr driller but struggled a lot on level 2 on the different modes, but you can buy stuff to help like more lives and stuff so I’ve eventually done a few of them, well did standard driller without help, or even using the robot. Been playing most of the day. theres also an easy mode you can select from the main menu which seems to use a different save and make everything a bit easier. Might try this when I inevitably get stuck on the normal difficulty. I really like mr driller so have been really enjoying it, wasn’t sure about some of the odd modes but they’ve mostly grown on me so far. It’s a shame you can’t select the other difficulty modes without beating everything on the previous level, and it is missing some cool modes from other mr driller games, like the time attack, but the boss is a bit like a time attack I guess. I have played this before on the GameCube but not much as it has a save bug (via freeloader or something?) and is not English so I didn’t understand what to do in some of the modes, so it’s great to get to play it properly oh and the music is flipping brilliant. anyone else getting it?

19 hours in and I finally started Day 2 earlier! ? I think this game could end up taking me 50 hours to finish at this rate ? After going through some really intense moments yesterday at the end of Day 1 I’ve had some nice downtime to relax and explore my surroundings. Then there was a scene in between Days 1 and 2 that absolutely floored me

in the japanese focused trailer event thing the other day SNK showed quite a few things. Mainly various Samurai Showdown things (new DLC character that's a knight from For Hono(u)r The show stopper though is that they're bringing Fatal Fury R-2 to the Switch eshop. FF R2 is a Neo Geo Pocket fighting game. It's not bad, I have the original and will sometimes still play it, but it's not bad on a Neo Geo Pocket, even I'm not convinced to buy it on the Switch (although apparently Gal Fighters is out? certainly cheaper than buying the original cart). Hopefully they're going to keep releasing these and we'll get the Metal Slug games and the superb Capcom Vs SNK Match of the Millennium

I managed to avoid all spoilers before playing the game. Which isn’t easy these days. Ive avoided saying anything specific here, even using spoiler tags. I hate when people feel the need to spoil stuff for other people. It’s just a dick move.

I think I read somewhere that as long as you have a manual save file before the very end, you can still Chapter Select. If you don’t, you can’t. Of course with the way this game is going, god knows when it’s going to end ?

Made my way to the hospital on day 2. Don't know if I was supposed to, because it was rather difficult, but I killed every single one of those fuckers. And I mean every single one! Saw so much on that last session. And I really went for it - nearly 4 hours, and I very rarely do that. Dealt with some new infected, a piddling little environmental puzzle, but that last section before the hospital could be the best piece of stealth/action gameplay I've ever encountered in a video game. I can't wait to get to the bit that ruins everything ?

So you bother to post trailers to games of a genre you don’t like and call it garbage without even saying you don’t like that kind of game ??‍♂️ The weather is nice outside.
