  1. All three games are excellent and absolute classics. You can’t go wrong.

  2. This came out today, I think? Nvidia's cloud streaming solution. If you have an Nvidia account* what you do is you run the Geforce Now program on a PC (has to be a PC) and you login to Steam through it and add games individually to your library. Basically it is a VM. You literally install the games in a VM, but don't actually install it. It's weird and doesn't make much sense. Also because it is a VM you have to keep giving the 2FA key each time as steam will think each login is from a new machine. From a UI perspective it is absolute dogshit to get up and running. But once you have a game linked you can jump in immediately and access your steam cloud saves. So I was able to pick up Doom from where I left off. The streaming experience is pretty bad for me though. Visually it looks slightly better than I remember Doom Eternal looking on Stadia, not that that's a fair bar to compare to as it was a demo last year. But it is way laggier on my 2.4ghz home wifi and turns into unplayable territory quite often. But sometimes it works fine. They list 5ghz as a requirement but that means you need to be near a router so it really isn't there yet for me unless I kick my housemates out of the common space and declare it as my man cave which I think would be undiplomatic of me. I don't really think this is an amazing service or better than Stadia or anything but it's major advantage up front is this steam library connection stuff. It doesn't ask you to invest deeply into its ecosystem beyond paying a monthly sub if you want. This is more the thing I want out of cloud gaming, an addon to existing ecosystems rather than this closed garden thing Google are doing which just seems like such a shitshow from waiting for publishers to announce games, having to port everything to its weird variant of Linux etc etc. You have to pay for better queues, better quality streams I think and RTX enabled games (ray tracing). I've just added Civ V to it which is one game I actually think I would like to play regularly on this. The switch version is nice but not quite all the way there UI wise. *You don't need anything for an account other than a gmail if you don't want to give Nvidia login and password stuff. Obviously they'll get your data and whatever but it's easy to setup

  3. Finally finished Mr Robot, comfortably one of the best shows ever made and an excellent ending. It was so good, I've started from the beginning again.

  4. I've been doing a bit of both. The lore/notes have been pretty great so far, with some pretty dark side quests (did one last night about a kidnapped child that got pretty creepy). But yeah, it's a lot of fun. I've even got stuck into the building aspect and now have a nice three story house with turret defences. It's got it's share of bugs, but it's no worse than any of the previous ES/Fallout games and so far they've just made us laugh. It's just a fantastic world to get lost in with loads of environmental story telling on the go. I'm now really looking forward to the expansion. I'd say that if anyone enjoyed any of the last few Fallout games and you can get two or three people together to play this with, it's well worth picking up cheap.

  5. @mfnick yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by how it kicks on. It's not life changing, but it ended up being one of my favourite games of last year

  6. Think I’m about 8.5 hours into the Switch version of this and it’s safe to say I’m bloody loving it so far. I’ve been a fan of the Persona series since picking up P4 Golden in 2012 - although P5 felt like it went on just a bit too long for me - but have never played an SMT or Fire Emblem game. So it’s safe to say I was intrigued by this when it originally came out on Wii U, but as I never really got on with that console it never really inspired me to pick up games for it (and those I did pick up I often didn’t play). Anyhoo, fast forward to present day and I’ve finally got it in my mittens and it has been a blast so far. As others have said it definitely plays like a Persona-lite, gone are the Calendar/time elements but they keep the High School Students aspect - albeit without the actual school RPG - the social links, similar dungeons, some similar enemies. It just feels like a Persona game to play, it does seem a little odd when they go out their way to not be Persona though, the things you collect and your ‘awakening’ upside-down alter egos are ‘Performas’ instead of Personas. You see a blue door in the social base and you think to yourself ‘oh that’s a Velvet Room’ but nope it’s a ‘Bliss Room’. Even the way you power up characters, upgrade weapons etc. Is very similar. I’ve only experienced two dungeons so far but they seem just about as good as the ones from P4 (worse than P5) but with less personal impact and less weighty themes to them to me. I like them though and they’re filled with puzzles and some cool boss battles so far at least. I want to mention the combat system as well which is excellent, I think I actually prefer it to P5s already really which is a hell of a compliment. It just feels so fast and responsive, I adore the ‘Session’ system too. I was getting my arse handed to me early on on Normal so had to switch it down to Easy and it’s now a decent challenge without being overwhelming. Still early days but I’m loving every second of it so far.

  7. The Tesla episode was great. Judoon episode was amazing. Whiny fanboys complaining about the "political correctness" are shit.
