  2. Very much enjoyed the Yakuza podcast, bound to do as I’m a massive fan of the series, since 3 on PS3. Definitely did justice to this outstanding series.

  4. https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/announcing-the-epic-games-store Looks like they really want to dismantle Steam's monopoly. Sounds good for developers, if enough customers make it take off.

  5. Yep, it’s definitely a Smash game. Played a little bit last night and a couple of hours today. Unlocked Sonic, Inkling and a couple of others I think. Inkling seems really fun, and plays like you’d want a Splatoon character to play. You have an ink meter that will run out as you chuck ink about and you have to turn into an octo to get more back (down and B I think shield and B). Also made a Mii fighter and obviously I’m going for the most ridiculous I can make it so far. So a bear head and maid’s outfit is the current look. The amount of stuff in this game already, how it got made and how expensive it was, I’ll never know.

  6. It's your one stop shop for all your JRPG (and western RPG, we're not racists) news and discussions. Want to talk about Shin Megami Tensei? You can do it here! (even though there's already a thread for that particular series!) And if you're asking "Rik, why are you making a thread dedicated to JRPG's? Wasn't that bellow's idea?" I can tell you yes, yes it was, but bellow is a coward. ENJOY!

  7. That always used to bring my piss to a boil, the “team”-mates who did absolutely nothing to contribute. Hang back and snipe? F off. Dont bother capturing objectives? Double F off. I think Battlefield works best with mates, because on your own it just feels a right chore. When you’re with a decent squad of randoms, fun can be had. I rented it,but didn’t bother with it much. Even the campaign didn’t really grab my attention for long.

  8. I'm still enjoying this a lot although it's plagued with the same thing of every battlefield have I've ever played. SOME people don't like playing the objective SOME people like to sit at the back of the map with a sniper rifle you're kinda kept going by your squad, 2 medics, an engineer and an assault seems to be the best combo I've seen. Assault dealing out the explosive damage, engineer resupplying and building cover, medics picking people back up. I've had a recon who spent most of the game spotting people and moving about to the objective we were trying to cap, but sadly that seems to be the exception,

  9. Not unless they want to do a sexy pachinko version of it. Netherealm know how to do a proper good Story mode. They’re always reliable for that.

  10. Bloody Roar is a Konami joint so you probably won't hear about it again for another long time.

  12. Didn't they poach some old Squenix talent for them both. The two of them where blatent FF and Dragon Quest rip offs, it was all quite cynical. That being said, I didn't mind either of them. I really enjoyed Eternal Sonata, might be my favourite JRPG of the last decade, certainly the last one I completed.

  13. I like the story to DmC. It's my second favourite YA novel-like story in a video game. The first being Persona 3.

  17. Just finished the Pinball Episode. Clearly a lot of love on the subject, for both the real and digital versions. Never played a “real” one myself, but had a go on a fair few digital ones. I’ve never really been that good at them, usually ending up at the bottom of my friends scores. Still,an enjoyable way to spend a while, between kicking peoples heads in while running a Hostess Club in Yakuza Kiwami 2. Kudos fellas,a fun episode.

  18. I'm guessing me and Sly are right around the same point as I've kind of being drifting around a lot, but with so much time I have right now I'll be seeing off that dragon before him I reckon ? I'm enjoying the assassin more. It's basically a merger of strider and fighter and you can pick and choose any combo of sword or knives in one hand and bow or shield in the other, leading to an on the fly flexibility the other classes don't really have. You don't get the more powerful longbows of the ranger tho What in trying right now is a dagger & shield build. The shield has a move with assassin which is a last minute shield parry which also jumps up onto the enemy. I managed to do this at one point with a chimera, baited him with shield summon and shield parried with "flight response" and jumped up on that goat head and hacked away. Felt very cool and rewarding. I like how this looks in 4k. It's an ordinary looking game but it renders pretty well on Pro at least

  19. I always thought the "no fuck you" boss from DMC was unfairly used as a stick to beat it with. The whole point of it was that it was childish, people seemed to wilfully ignore that to claim it was badly written, as though the old ones (or this new one based on what we've seen) were smartly written. And I say that with DMC 3 being one of my favourite games

  20. If I could afford a Switch,I totally would. But being a broke-ass student,no chance. Still, it’s good to see the series resurrected, was always a lot of fun. Will be interesting to see what Team Ninja brings to the table. Massive bangers for all the girl characters, presumably.

  22. I didn't like Bastion as much as a lot of the internet, I don't think it lot up this place either, but I thought it was pretty good with a few too many repetitive arena fights. I really liked Transistor. This looks like beautiful. It also looks like a Rogue-like. It's high time an indie studio finally released a rogue-like, I don't know why it's take so long to happen, but it's here at last.

  31. Hello, hello! So I click on GTM yesterday and The Plug has officially been pulled on the Forum. Even clicking on the main site takes you to Games Radar now. So that's that. The End of an era. I did think to myself I'd move onwards post-Forum, I'm a bit out of the loop with just about everything these days and I didn't fancy the idea of starting all over again. Also it was fitting the Old Name died with the Forum. Yet I was curious who made the Leap. Turns out I joined here in 2012? Six Years is a long time and I'd completely forgotten (I wouldn't even have a clue what 'OCH' means/meant??). Who knows though, Smash Ultimate has been dispatched and I'll most likely be getting Valkyria Chronicles 4 Xmas/New Year. So as long as my health holds up I might actually be able to get back into gaming et al again? As this was not a complete break (more akin to a Regeneration) I might just leap over here myself properly, in time. For the moment, 11 hour work days mean my presence will be minimal. Greetings once more, to all!
